Introduction to Bill

Hi Everyone!

My name is Bill Merhar. I’m Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer here at Blended Aquatics. I just wanted to take a few minutes and share what I currently do within the company and what our general plans are for the future.

As you can imagine, as an entrepreneur I wear many hats. Often switching gears many times throughout the day to get things operating correctly. This includes anything from tech issues, graphic work, social media, billing, learning business policies…you get the idea.

At Blended Aquatics we get it. This industry can be extremely difficult to navigate and can cause a lot of unneeded stress due to needs not being met. The further along Brea went into ABA the more she saw how the system could be different. That’s why we started this company in the first place. Our goal is to provide our clients with the services they need with as little friction as possible. Hopefully within that process we relieve some of that stress and get you and your loved ones confident around water activities.

Apart from our business operations another one of my major passions is health and fitness. I won’t bore you with too much of my backstory, but essentially after spending a lot of time in my teens and twenties generally feeling unwell and not making the greatest health choices (what can I say I liked beer and pizza!) I was ready for a change. I skipped the weekend parties and started working out and getting good sleep. The next thing I had to take a hard look at was my diet. It became very apparent that I was allergic/sensitive to something I was consuming. Through trial and error, I realized that I was becoming lactose intolerant (bummer). The next big one was realizing gluten was also a problem. So, to put it mildly, all those years of beer was NOT a benefit to my health.

Fast forward to today. I’m in my late 30’s and I’m still in the process of this health journey. About a year ago I was officially diagnosed with a couple of autoimmune diseases, both of which can be triggered by the food issues I was able to figure out years ago. To say the least the diagnostic journey can be quite overwhelming and expensive. Fortunately (or unfortunately) this gives me valuable insight into what our clients are going through. The silver lining of a bad situation, I suppose.

This led me to start researching various health topics and taking a Health Coach Certification. My personal goal, outside of the operational tasks of Blended Aquatics, is to share these foundational health principles with you all. Many of the issues I have dealt with are also prevalent with the ASD/Behavioral Health community. If I can help guide people struggling with these things, as I have, then I’m doing my job.

Keep an eye out for our newsletters and emails in the future focused around these subjects! We will be sharing information we are learning along the way that might benefit you.

Til next time.

Bill
